  1. Hey Choosy, do you know if the RSVP link you posted was the sign up for the Thursday event? R29 just posted another message saying you have to e-mail another address to be "on the list" for tomorrow night.

  2. I'm concerned about tonight. Yesterday afternooon Refinery 29 had a 'be one of the first 25 people to email us back and you and one guest can come to the preview party' post. Sounds like they might check names.

  3. This email and RSVP link were provided by Inven.tory. Refinery might be issuing different ones.

  4. I think the link here is just to get on the mailing list. Also, the email given bounces back, at least to my account.

  5. Just stopped by at 6 pm tonight (I work across the street). I don't think they were actually open yet, but no one seemed to mind me being there, and there were a lot of employees milling around. There were a few girls that looked like they were getting ready to start checking names at the door.

For men, at least, it seems like a waste of time. In addition to the regular Inventory stuff (mostly Cheap Mondays and a few shoes), there's one rack each (maybe 30 items per rack) of Dunderdon, Steven Alan, Rogan, and Gilded Age. That's it. There were probably a dozen women's racks. I did overhear that there are "more racks behind the curtain that aren't out yet", and I can't imagine they expect that amount of merchandise to last for a weeklong sale, but there was nothing remotely interesting. Maybe it will improve over the course of the week. I asked specifically about Rag & Bone and was told that was not on display tonight, but would be all women's anyway.

There's a bar set up for free drinks at least.

  6. Oh and to finish the prior post, pricing...
Saw Steven Alan shirts for $68, Gilded Age jeans for $80 (I think), Dunderdon windbreaker for $84, most things in that price range.

  7. Buuusted. Just came back from the "pre-sale." Lots of attractive people, but clothes, not so much.

I agree with Anon above. Limited designers for men and no Band of Outsiders.

Maybe they'll update the racks in the following days but don't feel bad if you weren't "on the list." There's more schmoozing than there was buying and no space to try on clothes. One girl was forced to change in a corner, poor thing.

  9. I walked right in and they did not check for names.

This sale won't save fashion (at least for men's).

Sales, companies, designers, please understand that shoppers are very picky in this economic climate. We understand you must move inventory. Understand that we want styles that warrant the prices. You can do better.
