Theory Sample Sale Preview

Is this the invite to Theory Men's Sample Sale preview on Wednesday, 12/2, from 8am-8pm? Just to be safe, we suggest printing it out. The public portion of the sale runs from Thursday through Monday, 12/3-12/7.
Update: A Theory rep has asked us to take down the invite, which pretty much confirms its authenticity. FYI.

Update 2: A friendly reader sent in the above price list. If you can't read it, another friendly reader posted the list in the comments section.

  1. Has anyone been to one of these (Theory Friends & Family sale) before? If so, what kind of prices are we talking, particularly for suits? Thanks.

  2. If I am remembering correctly I think the suits are in the $250-300 range and sportcoats around $100-150...

  3. Think those prices are accurate, and, generally speaking, Theory sample sales are regarded pretty highly...

For anyone that's went today: updates on access to the sale and/or confirmation of the above prices?

  7. There are plenty of suits and outerwear. Plenty of shirts too. Personally I thought the pricing should have been more aggressive but I guess I've grown accustomed to great sales thanks to The Choosy Beggar. That being said I bought some $59 dress shirts and $29 ties and am happy with the price I paid.

prices were too high I think as well. Sport shirts for $99?! bleh

I got 1 full cashmere sweater for $99. I think the sweaters were the best deal/most discounted

Knits were just OK, nothing special there

About 10-15 different types of ties
About 3-4 different types of vests in 38
38 sportcoats only a couple there
    38 outerwear fair selection
38 suits lots, but most look the same. Saw one cool tuxedo with satin peak lapels.

They had a lot of the same stuff in the same size

    Didn't see any t-shirts.

Lots of selection of pants and outerwear in all sizes. Some scarves, but nothing special. Gray prince of wales too played out

  13. Not sure about the comments here, but this is easily top 3 sale of the season. I spent about an hour and half there. Spent $400.00 and walked out with two pairs of pants (last two in 30) Black jeans and charcoal wool slacks. The last tie of this model which they let me take off the display and two sport shirts which are ok. A true mens sample sale and there is tons of stuff in my size small. Much better than any of the crap sales at bird or oak or any of the independent designers who's stuff is too trendy of the fit is atrocious. Great selection of suits and outerwear , but did not get anything of theirs. Glad I stopped at this one, but seriously, I for one am done for the season. Really!

  15. Agree with anon above. Great sale. Lots of nice ties, shirts, coats and knits. Prices not outrageous but def. a respectable sale. Lots of cute girls running around telling you that everything you try on "looks great on you." I never get tired of hearing that.
