At the risk of preaching to the choir, we have to point out how incredibly hard sample sales can, and often do, rock. Earlier today, we were just incredibly inspired by the Gant showroom sale on 55th, which embodies sample sale shopping at its finest:
• A Wide selection (so long as you're average build) of season-appropriate gear at a fraction of its retail cost.
• Discreet location, saving you the hassle of wading into a congested shopping district.
• Discreet brown shopping bags, saving you the embarrassment of looking like a tourist.
• No commission-crazed salespeople to fend off.
• No lines!
Gant sample sale - 20 W 55th St between 5th & 6th - 11 fl - 212-813-9170 - Tues-Thurs 8:30am-6:30pm, Fri 8:30am-5pm - Map

Yeah, I went to this and it was as described. Generally excellent, except the fit on the blazers is about the worst I've ever seen.
ReplyDeleteI checked it out this morning real quick. I picked up a shirt, a pair of socks, and 3 pocket squares. I may go back later or tomorrow to pick up this one blazer I saw. I was hesitant, but the more I think about it, it's a good buy especially at $95. I agree with Anon - the fits were not consistent. I tried on a few, one of which fit well. The others were too long, too tight, or too weird, and they were all technically the same size.
ReplyDeleteGot a great $25 Short sleeve dress shirt and a nice
ReplyDeletesilk italian tie for $19!
thanks !
I went on both the opening day (picked up 6 handmade in Italy ties for $19 each and a baracuda jacket for $50) and today, the last day, picking up 3 pairs of pants which are now $18 each! I dont know where else you can find such a great price for pants. Granted I fit very well into their 34 sized pants, its a steal anywhere.
ReplyDeleteSubstantial price cuts all around though. I also picked up another lightweight jacket for $30 (from $50) today. Lots of Large sized jackets and shirts, as well as 34 sized pants.
