The obsessives over at h(y)er collective bring us the inspirational tale of one man and his journey into the bowels of Bloomies to meet his destiny with a pair of Common Projects black leather, laceless dress shoes for the unrivaled price of $145 after tax.

A salesman at Bloomies’ flagship on 59th Street tells us the department store has carried Common Projects kicks for at least three years, but this season their buyers decided to try out the laceless dress shoes in black and white.

Will they do it again? Undetermined. Are there any left for $145? Yes, they’re still around at 50% off, but in nothing larger than a 10 in either black or white.
