Friday through Sunday, 10/30-11/1, A.P.C.'s Williamsburg-based surplus store is hosting an overstock sale featuring 80% off past seasons' stock and samples. As you can see here, the last overstock sale was really nice. (No, the denim never goes on sale.)A.P.C. The last sample sale they had here was absolutely terrible. I swear, if this wasn't an official APC outlet, I would've thought it was a bunch of jokers who decided to put out a label called 'APC'. The clothes were not 'understated chic'. The link on this post shows photos of the regular stock in this store, which is decent, but I'm confident none of that will be available on Friday.

ReplyDeleteThats sad. I did visit this store once and the selections were quite anemic - the prices were also not rock bottom as expected. I wonder though if this sale will bring in more merchandise to choose from. Anybody actually checked it out??
ReplyDeleteThere is denim! But its going fast, and everything else looked on sale for a reason. Didn't get anything but didn't look very hard either.
ReplyDeletenot much guy stuff. a few things that looked nice-ish, but mostly not worth it. Even the denim looked kinda not so hot - e.g. the one pair of Cure that I saw had spandex in the fabric.

ReplyDeleteeverything was basically 65% off. i realize it's over now, but am reporting anyways. i went early saturday morning w/GF and was definitely surprised at how much ugly stuff there was for guys, i couldn't really recall ever seen it in the soho store. the set up was also probably 30% men's clothing, 70% women's, and men had 3 or 4 choices of shoes, while women had about 20. when all was said and done, i did find a perfectly normal, and quite perfectly fitting trench marked down from 400 to 135, and a maroon cable knit scarf marked down from 100 to 35. i won't go so far as to suspend my apc full-price shopping in anticipation of this sale every year (as i do with steven alan, who would seriously pay full price knowing the bi-annual sales are coming?) but i definitely would go back again, and on the first day next time.
