i saw that on NYMag, and can't into it. i like the idea, but his jacket seems way to small. i'm game for the more fitted look and higher button stance, but the hem on his jacket can't hit much below his back pockets.
It strikes me as odd for the same reason there anon, the jacket seems out of proportion to the pants, which is why i think it strikes me as so small. it(cropped jacket) does, however, seem to work wih a cropped trou.

i was never a fan of the Thom Browne look, but this seems to work pretty well.
