Report from the field as of Thursday afternoon: "Decent -- If you wear MEDIUM shirts and sweaters, and 32 x 32 pants. There are a few larges in shirts, sweaters, vests, and blazers. I scooped up a large sweatshirt, and a bigger cut medium shawl collar cardigan. That was it for me. There's a good selection of outerwear - peacoats, raincoats, a few topcoats, some puffer vests...lots of jeans, and some cords. TONS of cashmere sweaters -- mostly in medium, but a few other sizes too. "
J. Crew S/S sale - 261 W 36th St between 7th & 8th - 2nd fl - 11am-7pm daily - Map
Skip this sale ... j crew at clothingline is terrible every single time. The merch is crappy, some of it is marked "sample" in permanent marker. The service is awful and they berate you for attempting to try anything on. Check out j. crew's outlet stores or keep an eye on their in-store sale racks.
ReplyDeletehave to disagree with that. i've gotten some great finds at the sale in merch.(dress slacks, wovens, etc.) and sizes(med. 32x32) that are rarely in stock on sale. a lot of it's marked sample and some of its damaged...don't buy that. i got a great wool duffle a few sales ago marked sample on the breast pocket, which isn't apparent from the outside. yeah, the service is sh*t, but you shouldn't expect bloomie's type service. you can snag much better deals on much better quality gear given the caveats noted.
ReplyDeletei agree with uwsclotheshorse. i've gotten great pieces there, especially at the end of the sale when they add additional markdowns. obviously, if you're not a standard sample size it probably won't work as well for you...
ReplyDeletei went and they had exclusively sized medium tops and 32 (waist) pants. prices weren't great.
