First off, Mother's Day is SUNDAY!!!, 5/10. Also -- obviously of far less importance -- Barneys and Saks are planning competing Mother's Day sales to the tune of 40% off S/S '09 gear (not basics). Why are we telling you a week in advance? So you have plenty of time to pre-order in store... At Barneys, anyway. Saks isn't presently allowing pre-orders, and is asking that you sign up for the sale in advance HERE.
Note: As one helpful reader clarifies: "Pre-order (or pre-sell) means you go to the store, pick out the goods you want, give them a credit card number, and they will run your card on SUNDAY. You can pick up the goods starting on MONDAY. Be sure to get the name of the sales rep who helped you, because they put the stuff in their own corners, and can get very confused about finding your stuff if they don't have the name of the sales associate (I speak from experience)."

I meant Mother's Day 2009. It's May 10. Google it for yourself.
ReplyDeleteAccording to Wikipedia, Mothers day 2010 is Sunday (it's always a Sunday) May 10. I'm sure she'd love to hear from you on May 4, too.
ReplyDeleteAlso, Barneys has had these one day events before, and it is not typically all S/S stuff. Certain brands, not others. Last season among the NOT included were Steven Alan, Rag and Bone, and Engineered Garments.
ReplyDeleteBARNEYS DO MOSTLY DESIGNER STUFF. CO-OP IS NOT REALLY INCLUDED.
ReplyDeletedo you mean pre-order online or in the store? if so, how does one pre-order on the site?
ReplyDeletealso, what qualifies as "gear"? thanks!
i dont expect this would work at a standalone co-op store, but what about the co-op floor on the Madison ave store?
ReplyDeleteand yes, mother's day is most definitely the 10th this year!
A number of co-op brands are usually included, such as Marc by Marc Jacobs, Paul Smith Jeans, Trovata, Rogues Gallery. Both at the Madison Ave store and the free standing Co-op store.

ReplyDeleteI went by the co-op store on 18th street today. Pretty much everything except Rag and Bone and Band of Outsiders is on pre-sale. 40%. You can pick stuff up starting Monday.
