Con-Sign Your Life Away

Business at consignment shops is booming, according to a story in the Post. And in New York there are really only two names men need to know in the world of consignment: Gentlemen's Resale, which we profiled last year; and INA, which consists of several locales, including a Men's Store on Mott St (pictured), and a Men's+Women's Store on Bleecker. [NYPost.com]

Hands down, INA has the best consignment merch in the city, given that much of it comes directly from film/fashion shoots. Name a designer -- Dries Van Noten, Dsquared, Dior -- and these guys carry it at no less than 50% off retail. Twice a year, they take an additional 70% off existing mark-downs -- the next such sale expected to go down in January. But, whenever you go, do so with a list *and your measurements* to prevent becoming overwhelmed by the expansive and tightly crammed selection.

"There's been an influx of Thom Browne suits," Milo Bernstein, owner of Ina, tells the Post. "We have men who have never consigned before coming in ... Several men came in who worked at hedge funds or in the financial industry."

  3. INA has some great items and I've been lucky to find two pairs of shoes here that fit just right. The first was a light brown suede loafer from Peal & Co., the second a classic brown Gucci loafer. Great prices too. Nice to see Choosy Beggar giving INA the credit it deserves. Keep it up.
