i just got back. shoe selection was quite decent actually...unfortunately the prices weren't. saw some nice loafers from prada and some great laceups from burberry but at $300+, it wasnt compelling.
ReplyDeletethe clothing was a total waste. jeans were mostly earnest sewn and seven...with the occasional destroyed levis in the mix.
the button down shirts were just horrible...particularly in the smaller sizes.
i may stop by on the last day but this was a total waste...yet again.
I came with low expectations. And don't shop to fill up a supermarket cart. As such, I left with a black cashmere skullcap/watchman hat. $38 from $115. It was more than enough for me. Lot of ugly there...

ReplyDeletescored a wool/mohair suit by kilgour, savile row, probably the nicest suit i have seen in a while.
and a black watch plaid blazer by band of outsiders, awesome.
of course at this point in the sale the prices aren't marked down any further, but the selection's only going to dwindle from here.
Wasn't that bad (compared to the last few years). Good designer stuff. Jeans below average. Slacks, shirts and suits below average (where do thy find no-vent suit jackets?). Left with:

I went by there tonight (Friday) and all the designer pieces I was hoping to stalk until additional-50%-off time were gone already.

ReplyDeleteThe only Band of Outsiders I saw were Madras jackets (very limited size) and a couple of other highly eccentric pieces. But that was all I saw the first day as well.
ReplyDeleteWow, the warehouse sale was such a disappointment. The clothing selection was a wasteland of the standard Barney's brands and the shoe section, while decent did not offer any real bargains.
ReplyDeleteThe sale was AWFUL. no more than 60% off retail. poor selection. It's better to go to regular barneys
