Word is that Barneys has set a date for its next winter warehouse sale: Feb 12! [New Yorkology via Racked] How will the sale shape up this season? Stay tuned.
you know. last year i racked up a couple barney's label suits - two to be exact.. and in the rush did not check the tags. i had, earlier that summer, purchased their non-discounted suits for full price ($1200 or so), and was really glad to see the same suits (i thought) for $250. turns out, i now realize, that the ones at the warehouse sale are made in china (versus the other italian made suits i purchased in house), and are never sold in the store (barneys proper - i.e. madison ave.). that they sell them only at the warehouse sale. seems deceptive in a way. anyway, thought i would put that out there as in the frenetic rush that is the warehouse sale, sometimes one is advised to check more closely.
Also--A lot of stuff at the warehouse sale is purchased by the factory outlet operation and never sees the sales floor at Barneys proper. Thus one sees loads of Elie Tahari, Michael Kors, John Varvatos... If you can get to Woodbury Commons, the same stuff is available for the same prices (before they start knocking off 25% or 40%) and you are welcome to return it.
