Essential Reading
Modeled after Machiavelli's The Prince, The Suit is both a fascinating take on the history of men's fashion and a defense of its tradition. Buy it HERE. While you're waiting for it to arrive in the mail, treat yourself to THIS discussion between its author, Michael Anton, and National Endowment for the Humanities chairman Bruce Cole.

ReplyDeletefantastic read all the way through. Might have to pick up this book myself.
ReplyDeleteI do find the suit too pricey for lower class American office workers to afford more than one. Unless they go bottom of the barrel with GAP and Men's Warehouse. Even when I was a kid, I would get one suit every other year before Easter Sunday from Value City. And even then my grandparents would argue about how much it costs them.
