Beggar Approved

For the record, a product doesn't have to be on sale to win our affection. It's "Sales, Deals, and Trends," remember. What is rare is for a piece of J. Crew footwear to earn our approval. (The quality of the brand's clothes has improved, but we still put its shoes in the same bush league as Kenneth Cole.) With the experienced help of Sperry, however, Crew just released what we consider to be the essential Spring '09 top-sider for the reasonable price of $100. [High Snobiety]

  2. Cheesy, cheesy materials, poorly made, popularized the black square-toe shoe, which many guys still seem to think is at all acceptable... it's a long list...
